Ensnared By Rita Stradling
Hi Guys,
not my usual for Monday Share Day but It was either a review or a babbling mess of words.
Summary By NetGalley:
My Thoughts:
So when I picked out this book the only thing I actually saw was Beauty and the Beast. I actually really love Disney and fairy tales so retelling's are my second favorite (Yes typical girl I know) Anyways Ensnared was far out there, futuristic, it was an ok retelling it had all the basic points, although I can't say it was my favorite, it lacked world building in some places, the characters were different from the original I didn't expect them to be the same, I did expect similarities, although there weren't really any except for the Beast. Overall it's well written and is way better as a stand alone instead of a Beauty and the Beast retelling.

A Near Future Retelling of Beauty and the Beast

To save her father from a five-year prison sentence, Alainn takes Rose’s place. She says goodbye to the sun and goes to live in a tower no human is allowed to enter. She becomes the prisoner of a man no human is allowed to see.
Believing that a life of servitude lies ahead, Alainn finds a very different fate awaits her in the company of the strange, scarred recluse.

Tides of Change By Susan MacIver
Going past the revolting development of Fridays events, The book I have for you today Tides of Change By Susan MacIver, I simply wanted to thank her and her and my associate Jane Ryder for the free printed copy the book.
Summary By NetGalley: Tides of Change, Book One of The Atlantis Chronicles, begins far beneath the wild beauty of the Aegean Sea. Having survived one horrific cataclysm, a society as ancient as time now thrives untouched and undiscovered in blue waters once ruled by Poseidon
Unknown to any but their Healer, a devastating secret threatens Atlantis with yet another extinction event. The matriarchal healing line descended from Poseidon no longer has an heir. In a desperate bid to ensure the continuance of their small underwater community, Na-Kai eva Evenor, Most Sovereign Healer of Atlantis, unleashes a power the Healers have been expressly forbidden to use from the beginning of time.
Rising from the hidden depths of Atlantis, Na-Kai’s telekinetic web of energy shimmers to a halt atop the jagged, volcanic cliffs of the exotic Greek island of Santorini.
Compelled from her hotel room to the very edge of the dark, windswept cliffs, Daria Caiden is trapped in the grasp of Na-Kai's relentless thought-form and pulled deep into the sapphire waters below. Floating in midnight quiet, she releases her last breath, and waits to die.
In one shattering moment, events are set into motion that will bring about catastrophic change no one could foresee.
My Thoughts:
Susan MacIver blew my mind away with this book. The detail that went into the world building was near perfect. I felt connected to her characters and the story by its self was mind grasping. I will admit though that it did take a couple of chapters to get there but once you do it physically pains to put the book down. Its been awhile since i felt that much for a book I am definitely going to put this on my new year re read list.

An Authors Tantrum (Apparently they do exist)
Shelby Lamb the author of Something You can find my review here.
Now to address the Author who throws a tantrum due to a 1 Star Review. As you all know I do, do some reviews for NetGalley, Now this darling author has very much implied and said strait out that I am a 'Fake' well I am here to say I am far from a robot. This author is angry because she can not hide my 1 Star review. That I more than happily flaunt that I did not like her book. Now I cannot do anything about her accusations. Although I can say that she does not take criticism lightly. I read every book from start to finish no matter what. This is one of those books that I had to slave through, I cannot help my honest thoughts, in fact on her blog she puts a warning out to Netgalley authors. and that's fine but I am real and my opinions are real as is my criticism. I cannot help that an author has decided to cry and whine because she didn't like my blog post.
I AM REAL! I HAVE OPINIONS! YES! I GIVE CRITICISM!

Question
Hi everyone so today I have been putting a lot of thought into a question my brother asked me about oh five years ago before he went AWOL on me.
Why do we care? At the end of the day we are dealing with either dying happy, sick, healthy, lonely, loved, hated, Ect,. So why do we care? what is the importance of caring if at the end of the day we are all dead anyways.
I am still after five years thinking and trying to answer this question myself, sadly I have yet to come up with an answer. Which is why I now ask you the same question, to ask yourself.

What You Don't Know By S. Airplane
Summary: Couldn't find one! Tangled (Adult 18+) Fan Fiction
My Thoughts:
This totally ruined my views of Disney, it has lot of mistakes in the text but was still "readable". This is a FAN FIC (Fan Fiction), it correlates well with the original Disney version. It paints a good picture and its a great story by its self. Now what I personally didn't like was the way the characters were portrayed, Rapunzel in the movie was far from stupid in fact she read an endless amount of books and more than anything this really ruined that, it made her look ditsy. Even though shes young and naive about certain things, it felt like the author really tried to push that she was stupid. As for Flynn Rider/ Eugene Fitzherbert I actually liked what they did with his characters they gave him a lot of background that wasn't there in the movie that makes it a much better story. Overall Its a well written fanfic,

As Red As Blood By Salla Simukka
Summary By Goodreads:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for teens—this international bestseller is a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat Nordic noir that chills to the bone, and not just because of the bleak winter setting.
Lumikki Andersson has made it a rule to stay out of things that do not involve her. She knows all too well that trouble comes to those who stick their nose where it doesn’t belong. But Lumikki’s rule is put to the test when she uncovers thousands of washed Euro notes hung to dry in her school’s darkroom and three of her classmates with blood on their hands. Literally.
A web of lies and deception now has Lumikki on the run from those determined to get the money back—no matter the cost. At the center of the chaos: Polar Bear, the mythical drug lord who has managed to remain anonymous despite hosting lavish parties and having a notorious reputation. If Lumikki hopes to make it out alive, she’ll have to uncover the entire operation.
Even the cold Finnish winter can’t hide a culprit determined to stain the streets red.

The Question of Love By Oz Monty Mikhail
This poem is short, but also the best I could come up with for the Valentines day season that isn't as morbid as the rest of my poems. (Yes, I do know they are morbid.)
The Question of Love
What is love?
Other than a day of passion.
A woman in satin?
Or maybe its the kiss,
a sweet kiss.
What is love?
Is it the look in his eyes?
The deep timbre of his voice?
The idea of making new lives?
Is love a choice?
What is love?

Something By Shelby Lamb
Summary By NetGalley:
“I will find true love and everything will be okay. I will find true love and everything will be okay…” she chanted.
They say be careful what you read. Something is wrong. Something is very wrong. It can happen to anyone. This is just four teenagers’ story. Aubrey Golding hates her face, her body, and is devastated after Nathan Silva leaves her. Alone, suicidal, and desperate for love, she discovers a book called Something and unknowingly links others to a dark and terrifying curse that is beginning to consume her. Nathan is glad to be moving on with someone new and can hardly believe what is happening now. Wild child and amateur porn star, Bella Broadhurst, loves bullying that “emo whore” Aubrey with the other girls, but mostly she loves partying, hookups, and plain ol’ drama when terror arises. And Kendra Coke is just a new teen mother working on a delicate relationship when things start becoming utterly bizarre. Chilling sleep disturbances and figures hiding in the corners of their rooms are just warnings of what is to come. Be careful what you read, they say. Tread carefully.

--To Kristopher By Oz Monty Mikhail
from a hideous demon.
To a beautiful angel.
A once unpleasant sight, now welcomed ray of light.
Meet me where the dead roam, where the living shy,So tonight we reunite.
Life is the prison we love,Death the freedom we are afraid of.
With love we hide, and death we side, peace is right, but chaos is the broken sight.
We Fight,see the light!
We hide, Don't shy!

The Fifth Petal By Brunonia Barry
Summary By Goodreads:
Salem’s chief of police, John Rafferty, now married to gifted lace reader Towner Whitney, investigates a 25-year-old triple homicide dubbed “The Goddess Murders,” in which three young women, all descended from accused Salem witches, were slashed one Halloween night. Aided by Callie Cahill, the daughter of one of the victims who has returned to town, Rafferty begins to uncover a dark chapter in Salem’s past. Callie, who has always been gifted with premonitions, begins to struggle with visions she doesn’t quite understand and an attraction to a man who has unknown connections to her mother’s murder. Neither believes that the main suspect, Rose Whelan, respected local historian and sometime-aunt to Callie, is guilty of murder or witchcraft. But exonerating Rose might mean crossing paths with a dangerous force. Were the women victims of an all-too-human vengeance, or was the devil raised in Salem that night? And if they cannot discover what truly happened, will evil rise again?
