Thirteen Reasons Why By Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons Why By Jay Asher Book Cover

Warning:This book does talk about suicide and different forms of abuse if you are undergoing emotional problems (Bipolar, Post Traumatic Stress, ect.)Reading this book can trigger a relapse. (I speak from experience. The first time i read this book i went through a relapse from a heavy depression, so please do not read this book if you are going through a mental crisis or have had one within the last five years (which really is just a suggestion) Thank you.😊)

Summary:
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker--his classmate and crush--who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah's voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why.
Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah's pain, and as he follows Hannah's recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.

My Thoughts:
I honestly enjoyed this book, it was painful, deep, and intriguing. The way Jay Asher wrote out Hannah's suicide was impressive. The scenes were descriptive and almost realistic. Imagining what the characters were going through, reading about it, was hard.
This is definitely a book for day to day bullies, As well as the bullied, you can relate to the characters, very easily. The subject of the book is very clear and intense.
The ache it leaves behind is never ending, a truly life changing book that is, all its cracked up to be. I cant find a book as upsetting and unsettling as well as enjoyable and as honest as this one.
