Summary By Goodreads:
Heather Barlow has always been idealistic, and now that she has finished high school, she's ready to make a difference in the world. After graduation, she joins a mission group on a hospital mercy ship sailing to Africa. However, Heather is unprepared to face the disease, famine, and misery she encounters.
My Thoughts:
This is another one of those books that are like, wow that's impressive. The first time i read this book, I was so moved by the main character i almost cried. (That awkward moment when you realize your little sister sounds just like your mom when she snores.) It It played on my emotions so well, and the way its written it feels as though your sitting there with the characters. It inspires, and makes you want to do something better for the world we live in.
People who read are always the most interesting. What they read, why they read and especially which books they read by who. The genres and the words and the intricacies of the sentences on the page. Its always a pleasure to go back to that old friend, the newest journey ahead. Words of all who think and feel, become and dream.
